
Dequana Simmonds is a passionate advocate and community leader dedicated to supporting immigrant, refugee, and racialized youth. Drawing from her own lived experiences, she brings a deep understanding and commitment to her work in social services, youth programming, and advocacy. Her focus is on developing sustainable pathways that promote stability, resilience, and well-being for young people.
Dequana has contributed to several impactful organizations, Currently pursuing a diploma in Social Service Work – Immigrants and Refugees at Seneca College, Dequana continues to expand her knowledge and skills in support of her community. Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, she is also a published author and entrepreneur, using poetry and event planning as tools to build community, foster connection, and inspire hope.
